Since I was a mere infant, I have always been picky with how much sleep I get. I always want a lot of it. Like anyone would guess, I get really grumpy if I don't get at least ten hours of sleep a night. Of course, I want that much sleep, but I never seem to get it. I'm sure everybody has the same problem of not getting enough sleep or being sleep deprived. That fatigue can be seen in many different ways, whether someone is working on homework and falling asleep or someone is lying in bed but not being able to close their eyes. The latter example is exactly what my painting is focused on. This piece is painted using acrylics. I love acrylics and would choose them over oil paints. I like how fast they dry because it works with how quickly I paint. I am generally more into sketching and drawing so I naturally work quickly. The acrylics really help with transferring my drawing style onto a canvas. With this painting, I wanted to work quickly because I have an (remove the word an)incredibly low patience (which is surprising for an artist), but decided to spend a while on getting as many details as perfect as can be, in places like the dress, the hair, and the face. The hair's flowy-ness and constant curls helped me get even more comfortable with a fine-tipped brush. So, along with having fun and spending a great amount of time with paint, I was able to become a little more patient and gain more confidence with my acrylic artstyle.
