Life is a journey. There are many beautiful moments in life but with good there are bad. Life won't last forever and that's a terrifying thing all the moments we share and remember are so different. My reasoning for choosing an angel as my artwork is to show grief but also healing slowly. The angel is meant to represent loved ones that have moved on. Around the angel there are crystal hearts broken which represent the grief. There are roses and tears to show the sadness of lost ones but also a smile on the angel's face knowing your loved one is in a better place even if you miss them deeply. Overcoming grief is a hard process that nobody likes to talk about. Some days you feel worse than others but with time most of that pain slowly feels bearable. There's always a part of you that feels like it’s missing. But keeping those memories, the times you shared, the way you felt around your loved ones, the good and the bad, for as long as you live you will remember those moments and have your loved ones in your heart and soul and that is something that is everlasting.

In the process of making this artwork I first started with the main body and added the face and made the eyes and smile as well as the nose. I worked on making the base which was the pillar and added a lot of texture to it to make it look rocky. I added both pieces together and I worked on adding the hair and the wings. I added detail to both of those and then I worked on adding all the roses and hearts in the end that was my favorite part. It made everything come together.
