I always try to make sure my art pieces have some sort of color in them in order to capture the proper sentiment of it, whether it’s having one aspect of it shine or the entire canvas.

For my wood panel, I decided to paint and construct a self portrait. The materials I used to create my self portrait were acrylic paint, construction paper, and colored printer paper. I also used a cartoon-like art style and bright, bold colors to capture the perspective of a child’s painting or artwork, something similar to mine when I was growing up. A part of this wood panel I enjoyed the most was getting to use different types and colors of paper, while a part I found most challenging was coming up with an overall theme of what I wanted to do. I would like to use layers and different materials again in future projects, along with more experimentation with this art style in particular.
