From an early age I was sure that I wanted to do something in the future related to art because every single time I got asked what I wanted to do I always had the same answer, art. When I entered kindergarten I always got home with a new drawing for my mom as a way of telling her I love you and it made her really happy and so it made me really happy. I always thought that art is more than just a hobby, I believe for many it is a way to express themselves how they feel inside because a picture says more than 1,000 words. I believe my greatest inspiration has been love because I have mostly drawn something or someone that I love.
My art is based on many media. I really like using all kinds of materials on a single piece because it gives a unique texture that I believe with not a single material we could obtain. If I needed to say my favorite I think it would be alcohol markers. I really like the brilliant color it gives and has been useful for many projects I had done at school.
My piece being presented is called Bangtan Galaxy the word Bangtan means protection against social pressure. The people around me are my favorite band BTS and their hair color represents their different personalities that makes them wonderful ( RM-Blue: Leadership, Jin-Pink: Purity, Suga-Black: Mystery, Jhope-Red: Energy, Jimin-Gold: Achievement, V-Green: Growth and Jungkook-Purple: Love). The moon represents the loneliness I feel sometimes but the whale represents the hope I still have knowing that with their music “You Never Walk Alone.” When I'm sad and look into the moon for a moment I imagine the face of someone I love and many times I see Jungkook, my idol. Music, just like art, is a way to spread a universal message that gets to people’s bottom of their hearts and sees it as a light of motivation. That is what BTS has been in these past 7 years being a fan, a light of motivation that makes me want to become a better person, follow my dreams and most importantly, be myself.
