I live in Santa Cruz, but I am currently a senior at Stevenson School in Pebble Beach. Having been surrounded by the ocean my whole life, it is one of my favorite places to be, and I have found an odd interest in the beauty and human commodity of sealife. As much as I love to eat seafood, I also find the ocean and its creatures to be incredibly fascinating. I chose this year to focus on the beauty of fish and the process of how we, as humans, utilize them as food. My piece, “From Water to Table,” is one of several pieces in my portfolio this year, and it represents the death and presentation of fish as a meal.
