Seaside High School, Junior

Ever since I was young, I always loved to daydream, which is why my artwork is inspired by Alice in Wonderland and explores art as a form of escape from reality. I created a surreal room that blends imagination with the real world, representing a mental space where I can temporarily step away from everyday life.

Using digital art and mixed media, I combined natural and symbolic elements such as mushrooms, flowers, a checkerboard path, and a rabbit in a tailcoat to blur the line between what is real and what is imagined. I enjoy layering imagery, textures, and symbols to create environments where fantasy and reality can coexist.

Through this artwork, I express my love for art as a place of freedom and temporary escape, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the scene as I do. This piece also pushed me out of my comfort zone by working with mixed media, as I typically prefer consistency and control in my work. Combining different materials forced me to accept unpredictability, experiment beyond what feels familiar, and let go of perfection. This process challenged me and helped me grow as an artist. Through this work, I hope to evoke a sense of wonder and invite viewers to momentarily escape into the scene.
