Artworks that perfectly capture beauty and tranquility have always immediately stuck out to me. The small details and added symbolism in a painting make an art piece meaningful and represent varying things depending on the person. Every individual has their own story, and their experiences shape the person they are and how they present themselves in everyday life. My inspiration to make this piece is the goal to incorporate the state of transformation and finding peace in challenges, ultimately building strength and resilience. When experiencing difficulty in life, I turn to creating art as a way to express emotion and to find a place where I can be calm. I love making art because watching my own creation come to life is a beautiful process that begins with just my own thoughts, which is then made into a tangible, original piece.
I prefer to paint with acrylic, a medium that flows easily for me. It is a beautiful way to paint, one that primarily focuses on layering and results in a magical array of colors in the end. I chose to use acrylic paint due to how strong and bright it is, which is fitting given the contents of the painting.
This art piece, titled Resilience, has the focus of a lady and a tiger. I chose to paint the woman playing the flute to symbolize divine calmness, while the pink lilies symbolize rebirth and quiet strength. The tiger and flowers are not only favorites of mine, but also constitute strength and rebirth after enduring hardships. In my artwork, my goal is to present symbolism while also conveying strong emotions. There is powerful symbolism everywhere around us and it’s nice to express gratitude towards them and their own unique beauty.
